Jackson arrived at a shelter two months ago, but looked like he'd been thrown out by someone in the middle of nowhere. He had chain marks on his neck, was 54 lbs., and very sickly. He's currently around 90 lbs. and healthy now. He doesn't chew at all and is left unattended (with no worries) for long periods of time; potty trained; not destructive; very mellow and likes to chill out on his bed; has good manners with other animals, including farm animals; and loves snow! He's a bit wary of men (possibly because of past experiences) but this can be worked on with treats and time. He's protective of his space, but very friendly with other dogs. He's just fine hanging out in the house, alone and free. He just likes to be with his people. Because of his past experiences, Jackson acts older than his age. He will need time to build up muscle and recuperate... and for the time being, has a bit of a hard time getting up and down stairs (and needs assistance into the car).
