Duke is a big lumbering boy, weighing in at 132 pounds, who craves lots of love, attention, and exercise. Duke would do best in a large fenced area. Duke does bark a lot so he would do best in a country home with no close neighbors. He has not been trained as a livestock guardian dog, although he was raised with goats as a puppy, and has been around cats and other dogs.

Duke is a typical pyr in that he has a mind of his own. He is leash trained, but has to be reminded not to pull. Duke is not mean or aggressive at all. But he is quite insistent when he wants attention, and has a tendency to push or jump up. He would do best with a stronger person who can keep him in hand. Duke is 5 years old and has a thick, white coat. Duke has not been around children, but he is so friendly he would probably just lick them!

He has spent most of his life either in the oversize kennel in his yard, or at least part of the day patrolling the quarter acre of yard and contained by a 4’ fence.

Duke is NOT housetrained but adult Pyrs seem to come around easily in that regard.  He has never been a livestock guardian and has only been around goats as far as livestock.
