Emmy is 2.5 years old and is wonderful, quirky, and a total goof ball.  She is up to date on shots and has been spayed. She wants her people’s complete attention. She is a goof ball and a total love bug. She does summersaults on the floor and often doesn’t realize how big she is. She knows lots of commands, is house and crate trained, and very smart! She barks to protect her home and feels that it is her job. She loves toys, but they need to be strong.

Before Emmy lived with her current family, she had one previous owner that we know of (she lived with them for 4-6 months) They told us that they lived in an apartment and didn’t have time for her, before that all we know is that she was in the shelter. Emmy has lived with us for 1.5 years. We want to make sure that she has a family where she is the only dog. Emmy has a hard time not being the only dog, and this has been the hardest decision we have ever had to make, but we need to do what is best for her long-term. We want her to have a forever family where she isn’t worried about if she will have them forever. She is not getting along with the other female dog in the home (they're both trying to be alpha).

Emmy's Pyrfect home would have her being the only dog (she loves to be around other dogs socially at the dog park or out and about). She needs a fenced yard. She's great around kids (her current home has a young child in it). We're unsure how she is with cats.

EMMY LOVES-

Attention; Cuddles and ear scratches; The dog park; Going on walks; She loves to be able to see what is going on (like looking out a front window); Meeting people and other dogs; Dog treats; Smelling people’s ears and eyes (she is really weird); Wet food; Scrambled eggs; Coconut oil

Commands she knows-

Sit; Stay (she struggles with this one and will only stay if she can see you for a very limited time); Lay down all the way; Come; Leave it; Paw (and other paw)- she will shake your hand; Kiss- She will gently put her nose on yours; Gentle- she will very carefully take the treat (great for kid interactions), or be careful about her movements.; Go to bed- She goes to the bedroom; Go to your crate- (we give her a treat if we are leaving, but have also use it for timeouts when needed); Whisper- (when she is barking too much- she needs to bring it to a low quiet growl or stop barking); -She is also trained to ring the bells to go outside to potty.

3. We will set up for a home visit. The 4 ft or higher fencing must be in place and be very secure for the adoption to proceed.

4. If everything has passed, we will then have you work with the foster parent of the dog(s) you are interested in adopting.

5. The adoption contract must be received along with the adoption fee for the dog before a transport will be arranged.
