Dozer is a tall beautiful boy.  He is back residing at Old Farm Kennels in Florence, MT after spending some time with our trainer.  She seemed to enjoy him  but says he was a little wary at first and has done some growling around food in another dog's kennel.  He acts like he's had some training before but that it wasn't a good experience, he's a bit defensive but warming quickly and very motivated by food.  He shows a calm interest in dogs through the kennel fences.  He is a very sweet slightly worried boy that acts like he's had some unfair "training" in the past.  He pulls back at the sound of "sit".  NOTE: Since returning to the Kennel the owner has been working with him and he sits beautifully on command.

The trainer did a lot of trust building and he relaxed considerably and is relaxed and playful with dogs as well.  He remains intense about food and might be aggressive around other dogs and food, however he is fine with her petting him and picking up his food while he is eating.  Since being back at Old Farm Kennels we found that he displayed fright whenever certain men approached him but now is relaxing more.  We do suggest that he go to a woman OR if to a man one that is interested in a wonderful companion and potential protector and willing to put in a lot of time with him.  The owner of Old Farm Kennels continues working with him and he is getting less fearful, so that is very promising.

He is lively and full of energy, would do best with a playful sibling or in an active family from what we can tell.  He can also be quite a barker when he gets excited but will eventually settle down.

If you'd be interested in offering him a foster or forever home, please let us know! In the meantime, he will be watching for you to come meet him at Old Farm Kennels.
