COURTESY LISTING

Wesson is a handsome neutered five-year-old male Great Pyrenees that finds himself needing a new home.

From his current owner -

Wesson was raised as a pet and his current owner got him through a friend of a friend to be a Livestock Guardian. He is very dog aggressive and when guarding his property, he will attack the goats and other LGD on site. When people walk their dogs past (or when the neighbor's dogs are loose nearby), he panics.

Wesson is a WONDERFUL pet and adores people, especially children. He needs to live as a pet or companion in a household with no other animals. Currently, he is kept separated from the other animals on property and he isn't happy. His previous owner did not disclose the dog aggression and his current family is just now looking for a home in which he will be happy and thrive.

He loves to be handled, petted, brushed, walked. He is food aggressive with other animals but not people. He is very good in the car and at the veterinarian. He is great at having his nails trimmed and even if you are pulling on knots in his fur. He is good on walks even when loose dogs run up to him. He is best as a pet or companion but not guarding livestock because when dogs walk past or are loose near his fence he will attack whatever animal is in the fence with him ... almost like he takes his aggression of the dog walking past out on the animals (goats or dogs) in the fenced area with him. Other than that he is a wonderful dog. He is afraid of gunfire and fireworks. He has a wonderful deep howl when he hears sirens.

If you are interested in more information on Wesson, please let us know and we will provide his owner's contact information. GPRM would be happy to help organize transport to his new home.
