This is the information we received about Ben from the shelter:

He was raised outdoors and is not an indoor dog. Very kind and gentle.  Seemed housetrained while at the former shelter.

Interacts with our shelter dogs fine – seems to not even care about other dogs.   Is not interested, does not bark at other dogs.

Owners said he is good with older children (have not seen the dog with young children).   Scared of lighting and fireworks.

He was obtained from a sheep herding ranch through an advertisement in the Bear Lake area and had been owned by people who surrendered him after 5 years.

***

Ben is now at Old Farm Kennels in Florence.  Ben is quite an escape artist, could climb and/or jump most fences although it seems he has quit trying.  It is going to take a unique and experienced Pyr owner to keep him home.
