Abby/Rose is a spayed five-year-old female Akbash mix who first came to us after residing in Utah with owners who needed to find a new home for her.  She had a medical condition with her eye that they were unable to treat and maintain.  After coming to us she was adopted and seemed to live happily - until her adopter lost her home.

Abby/Rose is a sweet dog and is good with little children but not little dogs. She has had some interaction with a small goat, but not sheep. She interacted with an older female border collie but could get aggressive towards the Border Collie due to her lack of sight.

Rose is good with cats and children but due to her eye condition, it would be better if they were older mature children.  She did live with a number of little kids in Utah though. Her ideal home would also have a nice, larger fenced yard for her.

She has a degenerative eye disease in which her eyes don't make enough tears. In short, her eyes are allergic to the sun and it caused issues with her not being able to see and made her more aggressive with the other dog in the home. Rose's eye care requires that eye medication is put in her eyes twice daily - it is NOT a terribly expensive medication and gives her great relief.
