RUFFY has lived with big dogs, cats, and little kids. He is friendly to all strangers and big dogs. He was house-trained but would definitely need a refresher since he has been in the kennel.  He is crate-trained (for night sleep), but really enjoys the outdoors and begs at the door to go out. He is looking for a home where he can be safe outdoors all day and brought inside at night or during storms.

RUFFY enjoys ball and stick fetch. He is not formally trained, but knows ‘sit’. He hasn’t really experienced vehicle rides to do adventures, so behavior in cars is unknown.  RUFFY displays some digging and jumping on people (because he doesn’t realize how big he is - he is definitely overweight by around 10 lbs). He may react badly to little dogs, squirrels, and outdoor cats. He will likely bark when unfamiliar people approach the home.  Ruffy definitely displays more of the Labrador look than Pyr, with a shorter golden tinted coat

Post from owner:

6 year old healthy, super loving, neutered male Great Pyrenees/Lab mix who needs to be rehomed through no fault of his own. His neighbors don’t like him and have threatened to kill him. They believe that he is the pup that roams the neighborhood, but it is just a case of mistaken identity.

11/15/2021 Ruffy passed the kennel "Cat Scan" - this means that he was taken to the cat room at the kennel and was not a bit interested in the cats.  Yay Ruffy....
