Sweet girl Denali is primarily a Livestock Guardian. The following information came from her owner who sadly had to turn her in to us: She is sweet natured and a beautiful dog. She is never aggressive towards our other farm animals; goats, chickens, cats and dogs. The other dogs growl and play with her and she is very submissive and never asserts herself aggressively. She barks a lot when she hears gun shots and fireworks. The noise seems to scare her. She will try to jump and lick your face occasionally and its something we have been training her away from. She worked with a dog trainer and she knows what off means, as well as sit and come, along with other basics. She comes to a whistle as well. Smaller children could get hurt if she jumps on them to lick their face (which is why we have her marked as best for older children). She still has puppy energy but she is a very large puppy! Since December 23: Homestead in wooded and open pasture with a fence and access to a dog house inside a barn. The space is shared with chickens and goats. She is outside 100% of the time and has never been indoors to my knowledge. Prior to December 23: Outdoor lean-to shelter with goats and chickens and other dogs. I think she must have had an electric fence here because she is hesitant to walk up to us at the fence. She just sits and slowly makes her way to our hand sticking through the fence. Like she has been shocked or something.
