Meet Rueger, a sweet 14-week-old Great Pyrenees mix with the markings of an Anatolian Shepherd. Rueger was sadly dumped in Northern Utah but is now being fostered in Ronan, Montana while he waits for his forever home. Though still a little skittish, he’s slowly learning to trust and loves ear scratches and belly rubs once he feels comfortable. He’s especially fond of treats like meat, strawberries, carrots, kale, and coconut, and he’ll respond to you with delight if you talk to him in a high-pitched voice.

Rueger is an independent soul and enjoys exploring the yard, often walking the fence line by himself. He loves interactive toys and bones to keep him entertained. Bath time is a breeze for him—he’s the easiest puppy to bathe! He does best when you speak to him in either a high or low tone of voice, especially when reinforcing desired behaviors or deterring the undesirable ones.

Though Rueger can be a bit shy, he is eager to please and very gentle. He’ll need a secure, escape-proof yard as he is quite the escape artist. Rueger is only available for adoption, and his adoption fee is $400, which includes his first vaccinations.

With patience, time, and love, Rueger will make a loyal and sweet companion for the right family. Could you be the one to offer him his forever home?
