3-19-07 Baby is about 5 years old. She's is sweet and gentle. Baby gets along with dogs and cats. She allows our cat to preen her. Baby is gentle with children. Baby used to live on 15 acres that she loved to patrol. But she has never tended livestock. Baby has never really adjusted to her family's move to town almost two years ago. She is afraid of gunshots, fireworks and thunder. There is a shooting range close to her home and Baby has become very fearful. Many sounds frighten her now. She even fears the neighbors riding lawn mower - so much that she hides in the basement in the dark each time they mow. Although she would enjoy a big yard in a country home, I feel it necessary to stress that she has become basically an inside dog at this time. She will go out after dark and stay out most nights. But she is frightened to stay out during the day. She should never be left outside if no one is home. If frightened, she will try her best to escape and run from whatever is scaring her. If left outside, and she is unable to have access to a door to get your attention, she would need to be monitored regularly to see that she is comfortable. Please consider giving Baby a home. She is very well mannered inside. She stays where you tell her to stay without being gated and doesn't beg for food or climb on furniture. We have tried giving Baby an antidepressant to help with her anxious behavior. She really needs someone who is will allow her to be their inside buddy while working on her problems with her anxieties.
