About Faith-ADOPTED

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 264310
  • Ear Type: Natural/Uncropped
10-01-07 Faith has adjusted well to family life. She is kenneled when we are gone and seems to be more patient and confident, knowing that we will return. She is a wonderful companion and truly thrives as a part of the family. She is polite, easy going and eager to please. We do think that she would do better placed in a home without other dogs. Although she is with our others and it could be possible, we find that she doesn't enjoy other dogs and becomes possessive over her family members. Out of her troubled and difficult past, she is seeking a quiet stable home. As we thought, her coat is coming in white, and clean and ever so soft.

8-20-07 We feel we know Faith a little bit better now. She longs to have a family. And although she will sit very patiently when placed in a kennel, she will eventually loose her patience, and she will find a way out of the kennel and make her way back to the house. Indoors, she is a perfect angel. She has perfect manners in the kitchen around food, she sleeps contently by the bedside, and she will politely ask to be petted by softly laying her head on your lap. People seem drawn to Faith, and she greets everyone calmly, gently wagging her big soft tail. She is very good around cats/kittens, even birds. We find her defensive around other dogs. She usually does not choose to interact with others and will strike out if they become too assertive around her. She is running free with our six others, but she still sticks to her self, seeming to count the minutes until we bring her in. She rides in the car easily, and walks on a leash easily. We suspect Faith came into rescue with her coat in horrible condition, and is still recovering from a very crude shave. She is on the small side for a Pyr, weighing about 80 lbs, and her face is more refined with out the drooling we often see in this breed. She will be gorgeous when her coat returns.

8-1-07 Faith came into rescue with no history. Faith was given her name in response to all the Vick/ dog fighting cruelty in the news... my daughter felt that we had faith in her, the way she'll have faith in her new family... and we would all remain faithful for the fate of abandoned animals everywhere. She appears to be in the 2 to 6 yr old range. She seems reserved, cautious and confused, but warms up to gentle petting easily. So far, she seems good with other dogs, cats, chickens, and even lambs and goats. She is easily tied or kenneled, remaining quiet without distress. She shows a little food aggression common to the breed, but is still showing poor appetite. She is good with children, and is sleeping in my daughter's room at night. She has very good manners in the house, definitely house broken. She was shaved before she came here. As we gaze at her extra big brown eyes, we can only imagine how she will bloom so beautifully with care and love. If someone is interested in a young healthy dog, full of potential, but would rather skip the troublesome puppy stage, Faith could be your girl.
